I’ve been a professional developer since 2014. After a few years at a consulting firm, I chose to work as a freelancer from 2017 to 2023, as this way of working gave me the means to bring my full expertise to my clients while giving me freedom over my work pace. I returned to salaried employment at the start of 2024 after finding a position that suited me at a small startup.

I see software development as, above all, a social activity. I need to be close to domain experts and users in order to understand their challenges and thus provide them with relevant solutions. Of course, an application’s success also relies on the quality of its design and implementation.

Since the developer profession is complex and constantly evolving, I engage in continuous learning: dedicated time for technology watch, conferences, training, and meetups. On this last point, I spent many years helping organize and facilitate Software Crafters Lyon events.

With my experience, I’ve identified at least three roles in which I believe I can bring value:

• Fullstack developer: for very small teams or to explore/kick-off new projects.
• Backend expertise: in contexts where robustness, performance, and maintainability are major concerns.
• Craft coaching: to help teams improve application stability, deliverable quality, and deployment cycles.
